Who we are
Jean Guillon is a new gTLD consultant experienced as a Registrant, a Registrar and a Registry, with a vast knowledge working for retail and corporate accredited Registrars, Trademarks, generic and .BRAND Registries.
"Going beyond new gTLDs" is my motto for the next Round of the ICANN new gTLD program.
With so many lessons learnt from the first new gTLD application Round in 2012 and a very good knowledge of the real numbers, I like to sit in the chair of the people I offer consulting services to, with that very simple question: "what would I do with your money if I were you?" According to a project, there are specific mandatory service providers I would work with and others I wouldn't: not because they are good or bad but because some are better at some projects and some are better are other type of projects: a .BRAND domain name extension is not the same as a generic, a communitu or a geographic Top-Level Domain project.
In terms of innovation (remember my motto), I strongly believe in projects using the full potential of a Top-Level Domain: there is a lot of innovation to develop using domain names as a service and Project John Wolley is one of them. I am personally very excited about the idea of monopolistic projects such as niche Top-Level Domains (ie: the .SUSHI new gTLD) even if these are challenging; but I am confident and very enthusiastic about offering a service coming with the registration of a domain name: this is the future of new gTLDs to me.
